Commissioning is easy  - I offer a dedicated service to you

Commissioning a portrait should be an enjoyable process. From thinking I'd like a picture like that!  To unwrapping the completed artwork. I work hard to ensure you are kept informed along the way and any questions you have are answered.

Quite simply a portrait has the power to bring such pleasure.

Pure Joy

Having a portrait can help when we loose someone close to us. Or it can relight memories of years gone by.

Unlike a photo a portrait adds something really special to a room.

The style I use doesn't include detailed backgrounds as I like the focus to be on the subject.

Subject choice

People, pets or a combination.

I can paint a pet with a person, or more than one pet together, or a couple of people, I am happy to discuss options.

I can group subjects together, two separate pet photos can be combined as the reference for a single picture.

If you have a deceased pet, we can work together to choose the best photo from maybe a limited album

Satisfaction

What is really important to me is that the finished portrait exceeds your expectations.

I am thrilled when a client really loves their painting.

A portrait needs to be something that you will love and want to look at everyday .

I have painted a portrait of my late father, looking at it my mother feels  he is still in the room with her. That's the magic of a portrait

Photo tips

I work from the photos you send me, so please pick a pose that you are happy with, one that captures the character of the person or pet. As you can see for the portraits on my website I rarely paint straight on "passport" style portraits. As I feel angles add something to the finished look of a picture.

When you commission me I can help guide you to supplying the best photo.

Timescales

If you are commissioning a portrait as a present I will always try and accommodate this, but normally I work on a fist come first painted booking system.

I use water mixable oils, which dry quite quickly, but I do like to work on more than one painting at a time, to help with drying time.
